About the committee
(1) There shall be a Committee to be known as Committee on Water Resources consisting of not more than 40 members appointed at the commencement of the life of the House.
(2) The Committee's jurisdiction shall cover:
- Matters relating to Water Resources generally
- Dams, Reservoirs and Canals Development
- Urban and Rural Water supply
- Irrigation
- Exploration and development of surface and under-ground water
- River Basin Development Authorities
- Hydrological and Hydro geological investigations
- Oversight over the Ministry of water Resources and all Parastatais thereunder
- Annual budget estimates
