About the committee
(1) There shall be a Committee to be known as Committee on Solid Minerals Development consisting of not more than 40 members appointed at the commencement of the life of the House.
(2) The Committee's jurisdiction shall cover:
- Geological Surveys and minerals investigations
- Exploration, mines, minerals and quarrying
- Investments in mining activities
- Explosives
- Nigerian Mining Corporation
- Coal Corporation of Nigeria
- Bitumen projects
- Miferugui-Nimba Iron Ore
- Uranium project (Guinea and Niger)
- Bauxite Ore, Guinea
- Nigeria Mining and Geo-Science Society
- Association of African Geological Surveyors
- Commission of Geological Map of the World
- International Geological Sciences
- International Geological Congress
- Commonwealth Committee for Mineral Resources and Geology
- Nigerian Uranium Mining Company
- Annual budget estimates
