About the committee
(1) There shall be a Committee to be known as Committee on Public Service and Federal Character consisting of not more than 40 members appointed at the commencement of the life of the House.
(2) The Committee's jurisdiction shall cover:
- Federal Public Service Matters generally
- Conditions of Service
- Pensions and Gratuities (Records)
- Matters relating to Federal Commissions and Councils as contained in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, provided that such Commissions and Councils are not covered by other Standing Committees
- Oversight over the office of the Head of Service of the Government of the Federation
- All matters relating to the Federal Character Commission
- To receive and treat complaints on non compliance with Federal Character principles and the law
- Annual budget estimates
