About the committee
(1) There shall be a Committee to be known as Committee on Petroleum Resources-of not more than 40 Members appointed at the commencement of the life of the House.
(2) The Committee's jurisdiction shall cover:
- Oversight over the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation's (NNPC) Up-stream activities
- Oil exploration and exploitation
- Energy conservation
- Crude oil marketing and revenue therefrom
- Matters relating to Upstream Petroleum Sector generally except as may be assigned to
any other Committee
- Annual budget estimates
