About the committee
(1) There shall be a Committee to be known as the Committee on Legislative Budget and Research consisting of not more than 40 members appointed at the commencement of the life of the House.
(2) The Committee's jurisdiction shall cover:
- Provide the House timely and non-partisan analysis for economic budget, policy and legislative decisions
- Serve as repository for information and various position papers on the venture from the other standing and Ad-hoc Committee within the House as well as other legislators
- Determine the need, nature of foreign or domestic scope of technical assistance and roles of donor agencies in the establishment of the NABRO
- Engage in the actual discussion and negotiation for funding requirements with donor agencies
- Articulate projects costs and determine funding sources
- Determine the use and roles of consultancy in the projects and make appropriate recommendations
- Co-ordinate and oversee the establishment and functioning of Legislative Budget Research Office of the House of Representatives;
- Annual budget estimates.
