About the committee
(1) There shall be a Committee to be known as Committee on Judiciary consisting of not more than 40 members appointed at the commencement of the life of the House.

(2) The Committee's jurisdiction shall cover:

  • Judicial matters generally
  • Oversight over Federal Judicial Institutions including but not limited to the Supreme Court,Court of Appeal, Federal High Court, High Court of Federal Capital Territory, Customary and Sharia Court of Appeal, National Judicial Institute, National Judicial Council and all Courts/Tribunals howsoever called funded by the Federal Government through first line charge or howsoever described
  • Legal education
  • Notaries public
  • Annual budget estimates
