About the committee
(1) There shall be a Committee to be known as Committee on Human Rights consisting of not more than 40 members appointed at the commencement of the life of the House.
(2) The Committee's jurisdiction shall cover:
- All human right issues including petitions of rights
- Human Rights Commission
- Public Trustees
- Coordination and implementation of Child Right Act and other matters related thereto
- National Refugee Commission
- National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP)
- Annual budget estimate.
