About the committee
(1) There shall be a Committee to be known as the Committee on Electoral Matters consisting of not more than 40 members appointed at the commencement of the life of the House.

(2) The Committee's jurisdiction shall cover:

  • Monitoring the implementation of the Electoral Act and all electoral processes in the country and report periodically for legislative action and remedies
  • Studying activities of Electoral bodies and processes and periodically recommend assistance or modification
  • Oversight over activities of the Independent National Electoral Commission
  • Annual budget estimates of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
